How to Accessorize for Winter Weather

At Something New, we love how romance just fills the air during the holiday season! We love it so much, we put together a list of our favorite ways to accessorize during the colder months for weddings in the holiday season. Whether you’re saying “I do” under the mistletoe around Christmas or under fireworks on New Year’s Eve, these wedding details are sure to make you fall head over heels in love!

  1. LAYERS

Who doesn’t love a good layering moment! The holiday season is the perfect time to accessorize with some layers. Whether it’s a trendy denim jacket that makes a statement as you exit through a sea of sparklers or a fur throw that keeps you nice and cozy during your snow white ceremony, layers are always a way to make a statement on your big day.

2. TEXTURE

Velvet is becoming an increasingly popular bridal party trend, especially during the colder months. Mixing and matching the velvet texture with other fabrics is a great way to add variety in your wedding party looks. Texture can also be emphasized in your florals! We couldn’t help but hop on the pampas bandwagon this season – they are whimsical and angelic and blend well with any color palette!

3. Headpiece or Hat

If you’re feeling bold ladies, trade out that veil for your favorite headpiece! Ask your photographer to hold onto your headpiece for your post-ceremony pictures so you are able to snap some golden hour shots in your veil AND your reception headpiece whether it’s a flower crown, seasonal hat or something borrowed hair piece.
